How many times have you been standing in the gym wondering what the hell you’re gonna do for your workout, because everything you have done and know is so damn complicated that you’re burned out just thinking about it?
It’s happened to me on more than one occasion. The remedy for this condition is pretty straight-forward and BASIC……Stick to the damn BASICS!
Although I have found myself in this same position, I still wonder why the hell people feel it necessary to complicate every damn thing to the point of becoming lost and unmotivated. And even when they’ve reached that point in their training, they still hold tight to their rocket science workouts….WTF!?!?
It’s my opinion that when you get back to the basics, you’re able to really start cranking the intensity up. And, for the most part, that’s what we want in the first place, remember? Short bouts of intense training is what has been found to get the biggest bang for your buck – How the F*CK are you supposed to be intense when you’re doing algebra to figure your next working set weight out?
It’s not gonna happen, people!
This form of technical training has it’s place, don’t get me wrong. I use some pretty complicated barbell complexes to spark a new stimulus, but I don’t live there! That’s the point!
Step back to the BASICS every once in a while, and you’ll find yourself crushed but loving it!
