Days 236 of 365: Hmmm…Effective Training?

This week found all CrossFit Central  indoor athletes testing themselves by means of the CrossFit Total – one of my favorites!  We test our athletes every third month of programs so as to theoretically give them enough time to make adaptations, but not so often as to crush their CNS with constant heavy loading….Something some of you may want to read again and consider…

Anyway, the point of today’s post is to point out the awesome efforts and gains of one of my most consistent Strictly Strength’ers, Brian South.  A meathead’s attempt at explaining his job in..3…2…1…This guy is an engineer that works on developing high-powered telescope parts and pieces for the University of Texas, BUT when he’s not working the muscle between his ears, he’s throwing around big weight every way possible and lives for the shit!  All of my of my SS’ers are passionate about getting strong and living with strength, but Brian is definitely leading from the front!

In addition to being a Strictly Strength athlete, Brian is also a 2-day-a-week CrossFit Central athlete.  And, as I’ve already mentioned, this week was all about the Total.  Needless to say, I was expecting some good results from Brian(and my other SS’ers), but I was stoked to watch Brian PR his back squat by 10lbs – from 365 to 375, then proceeded to demolish his old deadlift of 445 by tossing around 460!!!  Fucking AWESOME!

Brian absolutely deserves the positive returns for all of the hard work he puts in on a consistent basis.  Here’s a little video footage of my SS’ers taking it to the next level…Going to the place that many don’t want to go!
